The LIFE-EFFIGE project “Environmental Footprint For Improving and Growing Eco-efficiency” has just started.
European surveys and national studies highlight how the market is demanding ever more sustainable products. From heavy industry, agriculture to food services, the companies’ goal is to understand how their services and products are impacting to improve the environmental performance. The Life EFFIGE project aims to meet this need by experimenting with the adoption of PEF -Product Environmental Footprint, a method of calculating the environmental footprint of products and services promoted by the European Commission with the Recommendation 179/2013. EFFIGE, experiments precisely this method in 4 productive sectors (foundries, wood furniture, agribusiness and restaurant service) involving numerous companies in this activity.
