Arising interest in PEF by agricultural community
On September 19, at the FIDAF (Italian Federation of Agricultural and Forestry Doctors) seat in Rome, a seminar was held on the progresses made by the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) programme to an audience of more than 30 agronomists and sectorial experts. The rapporteurs presented both the trajectory that the EU has followed in the recent past as well as outlined the next steps in ensuring a better natural resource management for European agri-food companies, giving some examples and providing the results of the two Italian pilot actions that are reaching the end of their first phase. Moreover, the strategy to better communicate with and involve the wider public has also been addressed. The result has been a very interesting debate between the audience and rapporteurs, showing how the topic is arousing an increasing interest in the agricultural community.
